This Week Around Town: Dining Month, Live Music & Dance on Amelia Island

Welcome back, neighbors. Here is your quick rundown of what is happening around Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and the rest of Nassau County this week. Grab a coffee and settle in.

Eat your way through September

It is Amelia Island Dining Month all September long, with chef-driven menus and specials at restaurants across the island. If you have been meaning to try a new spot downtown or out on the island, this is the month to do it.

Out and about this weekend

Sounds on Centre returns to historic Centre Street on Friday, September 4, with free outdoor live music and a lively downtown evening (one of our favorite nights of the month). On Saturday, the Fernandina Beach Farmers and Arts Market runs 9am to 1pm in historic downtown, with local produce, handmade goods, and plenty of friendly faces. For the always-current list, check our Local Events page.

Coming up: world-class dance

Looking ahead, the Amelia Island Dance Festival takes the stage September 10 to 13, with performances and master classes open to the public. It is a rare chance to see world-class dance right here on the island.

Friday night lights

High school football is in full swing across Nassau County, so grab a seat in the stands and cheer on the home crowd. There is no better way to spend a Friday night this time of year.
